Robotics technology is advancing globally, yet forest-specific robotics is still in its early stages.
Practical robotic and automated solutions for these and other needs might emerge from the commercial equipment market in forestry and other industries or through public and private R&D pipelines.
This project explored these opportunities with the industry and guided by Australia's strategic forestry objectives aimed to help the industry to:
Prioritise relevant adaptation and R&D in automation and robotics.
Build industry skills and understanding in automation, data, and robotics; and
Begin integrating robotics into forest management practices.
