¶ Project to develop, pilot & make available methods of verification of sustainability & precision forestry
Description: The aim of this project is to develop, pilot and make available methods of verification of
sustainability and precision forestry to support both the monitoring and the practical operations
carried out in the forests. The user base of the methods to be developed and the beneficiaries of
the project primarily consist of site planners, logging machine drivers and loggers, but landowners
also benefit from the project's outputs. Methods are developed for advance planning of
operations, monitoring and guidance during work, and for more precise verification of the
completed operation. These focus on the topics of nature management, forest management and
harvesting, as well as the management of forest damage risks. The assumption is that there is a
demand for the methods and that the importance of authentication in particular will increase
considerably in the near future.
