¶ Paper on MECANT walking robot
Description: MECANT was a six-legged walking machine constructed in the Helsinki University of Technology for research and test purposes in natural environments. Mecant is a fully independent hydraulic machine, weighing about 1 ton, which has an advanced distributed on-board computer control system. The machine is operated remotely by the operator who uses a radio joy-stick controller to give velocity, heading and body attitude and altitude commands. Walking is fully automated by the computer system that implements the operator's commands.
