Description: FPInnovations is developing the “brains” for future autonomous harvesters capable of working in harsh forest environments.
They are building algorithms that allow machines to detect logs, avoid obstacles, and perform harvesting tasks automatically.
Work includes automating the crane functions of log loaders and developing robotic perception systems.
